range: Appliance that consists of a stovetop, usually with four or more burners. A kitchen range may also have optional additions, such as a grill or frying area. In some cases, a kitchen range will also include an oven below the stovetop.

refrigerator: An appliance used to keep foods cold to prolong the period that foods can be stored before cooking. Most refrigerators include freezers to store frozen foods.

side-by-side refrigerator: A refrigerator that includes a full-length freezer and a full-length refrigerator with separate doors sitting side-by-side.

stove: A cooking appliance that usually uses either gas or electricity for power. Food is placed in pots or pans and cooked over burners on a stove.

stovetop: The surface of a stove.
