microwave oven: An appliance that uses microwave radiation to heat and cook foods. Microwave ovens cook foods faster than conventional and convection ovens.

mixer: Electrical appliances used to mix, blend, beat, cream, whip or fold ingredients together. Mixers can be either hand-held or free-standing. Unlike blenders and food processors, mixers do not use blades. In addition, mixers are slower than both blenders and food processors.
